The CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is a nationally recognised qualification in Australia designed for individuals passionate about nurturing and educating young children. This Diploma equips students with advanced skills and knowledge in areas such as child development, curriculum planning, health and safety, and fostering inclusive learning environments. Graduates are prepared to take on leadership roles in early childhood settings, ensuring high-quality care and education for children during their formative years.

  • CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is a nationally recognised qualification built from competency standards within the Community Services Training Package. To complete this qualification, students must undertake at least 280 hours of practical placement in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia.

  • Total: 13 core units + 2 electives
    All units are delivered with both theory and workplace-based learning.

  • To be eligible to enrol in the CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care you must hold the following:

    CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care OR CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

    Alternatively, individuals may hold:

    An Australian diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care OR an Australian Diploma or Certificate III in Children’s Services.

    AND

    Demonstrate at least 12 months of cumulative employment (full-time equivalent) within the last 5 years in a regulated education and care service in Australia, supported by verifiable evidence.

    OR

    Hold the CHCSS00147 Entry into Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

    To be eligible, you must also:

    • Must be currently employed in the early childhood sector working a minimum of 3 days in a regular centre.

    • Minimum age: 18 years

    • Recommended: Completion of Year 10 and basic adult literacy/numeracy

    • Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) assessment may be required

    • If needed, students will be referred to a pre-vocational foundation course

    • Students must provide a clear Working With Children Check - Apply here

  • You can ask for your relevant existing skills, qualifications and experiences to be assessed and taken into account when your level of competency is being evaluated. There will be an associated Application Fee. 

    • Fortnightly check-ins with the Training Centre.

    • Interactive e-learning to support your development and understanding.

    • Study nooks available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9-4pm with Facilitator support.

    • Options to book Online Study Support sessions via Teams - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9-4pm. Outside of Business hours support sessions can be booked upon request.

    • Access to the Wellbeing Support Coach for individualised additional support.
