CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is a nationally recognised qualification built from competency standards within the Community Services Training Package. To complete this qualification, students must undertake at least 280 hours of practical placement in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia.

To be eligible to enrol in the CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care you must hold the following:

CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care OR CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Alternatively, individuals may hold:

An Australian diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care OR an Australian Diploma or Certificate III in Children’s Services.

AND

Demonstrate at least 12 months of cumulative employment (full-time equivalent) within the last 5 years in a regulated education and care service in Australia, supported by verifiable evidence.

OR

Hold the CHCSS00147 Entry into Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

To be eligible, you must also:

• Must be currently employed in the early childhood sector working a minimum of 3 days in a regular centre.

• Minimum age: 18 years

• Recommended: Completion of Year 10 and basic adult literacy/numeracy

• Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) assessment may be required

• If needed, students will be referred to a pre-vocational foundation course

You can ask for your relevant existing skills, qualifications and experiences to be assessed and taken into account when your level of competency is being evaluated. There will be an associated Application Fee.
